Knowledge of central mechanisms of nociception, hyperalgesia and analgesia, regarding secondary effects such as placebo, sleep quality, nutrition and expectations/intrinsic motivation.

- The student has a thorough knowledge of neurophysiological and pathophysiological characteristics of chronic pain pathologies and practical competences regarding these pathologies.
- The student is familiar with the construction of a scientific article and the use of references.
- The student is able to critically evaluate English scientific literature in the field of exercise sciences and physical education on a methodological level and to reflect on the validity and reliability of both the used measurement methods and the research design.
- The student is able to explain in layman's terms neurophysiological aspects of chronic pain pathologies to a patient.
The final grade is composed based on the following categories:
Written Exam determines 80% of the final mark.
Other Exam determines 20% of the final mark.

The multiple-choice questions will be graded using positive scoring with a Higher Cutoff. Therefore, no points will be deducted for incorrect answers. However, points earned through guessing will be factored into the final score by raising the passing threshold (cutoff). The exam strategy with this method is simple: do your best on the entire exam, guess to the best of your ability on questions you don't know or only partially know, without worrying about potential point deductions.
Transfer of partial credits to the second examination period is not possible.
Partial credits cannot be transferred to the next academic year.
For the entire duration of the exam, backpacks, coats, mobile phones and other electronics (including smart watches) must either be placed in the front of the auditorium or left in the cloakroom. If a student is caught in possession of these objects during the exam, Article 118 of the OER will be applied.
The use of generative AI Tools are not applicable and therefore should not be used for this programme unit.
