-most important methods and procedures in promoting and evalutating quality care in health care
-Belgian legal framework concering quality care in health care
-students have to demonstrate their knowledge and skills by developing and presenting an initiative of quality improvement (group work)
During a part of the lectures the students are coached in analysing a concrete example of quality improvement in health care (from their own work experience). They are expected to give a group presentation on this case and to discuss it with the teacher and fellow students . These lectures require compulsory attendance.
-Students have gained insight in the context and background information that makes it necessary to care for quality in health care
-Students are able to define 'quality' and translate it to the specific conditions in health care
-Students know the current concepts in quality care and safety in health care, and is able to explain these by means of concrete examples from health care practice
-the student knows the most important methods and measuring instruments used in quality evaluation in health care.
-Students have gained insight in the Belgian legal framework on this subject
-Students are able to develop an example of quality improvement initiative in healthcare and to present and discuss it with peers and teacher
The final grade is composed based on the following categories:
Written Exam determines 70% of the final mark.
LEC Presentation determines 30% of the final mark.

-group work: analysis and presentation of a case in quality improvement in healthcare, including discussion with peers and teacher in class (6 / 20)
To pass the exams, the student has to obtain at least 10/20 for both parts
