Course Content

Study of clinically oriented and scientific evidence-based care for syndromes that are dealt with during internships and relate to the final objectives as defined under “physician” level expert plus.  

The ASO is to operate with increasing autonomy and complexity in a scientifically founded way.

WORKING METHODS 

  • Bedside teaching 

  • Possible assignments (on average, expected to take 30h) 

  • Critical discussion of a clinical question on the basis of a literature study 

  • To elaborate Standard Operating Procedures for a clinical act 

  • Achieving/renewing a certificate in Good Clinical Practice 

  • Staff meeting with case discussions: 1h/week (1x/year 10h for own case) 

  • Change of shifts (MIC dome), 1x/week (1h at delivery room) 

  • Postgraduate courses: 1x/month, 2h (1x 25h for presentation during education) 

  • VVOG-courses: 1d + 3d + 1d + 1d + 2d + 1d = 9 days (interuniversity) = 65h

The final grade is composed based on the following categories:
Other Exam determines 50% of the final mark.
SELF Practical Assignment determines 50% of the final mark.

Within the Other Exam category, the following assignments need to be completed:

  • Portfolio with a relative weight of 50 which comprises 50% of the final mark.

  • Casus with a relative weight of 50 which comprises 50% of the final mark.
