Grading

The final grade is composed based on the following categories:
Written Exam determines 80% of the final mark.
Other Exam determines 20% of the final mark.

Within the Written Exam category, the following assignments need to be completed:

  • Schriftelijk examen with a relative weight of 80 which comprises 80% of the final mark.

Within the Other Exam category, the following assignments need to be completed:

  • Permanente evaluatie with a relative weight of 20 which comprises 20% of the final mark.

Additional info regarding evaluation

Students will need to successfully pass all parts of the course: viz. the permanent evaluation and the written exam. If a student has passed all parts of the course, the final mark in the first examination session will correspond to the total average of all parts. If a student scores less than 10/20 for at least one part of the course, the lowest mark obtained will be entered as final mark. In that case, the student must retake the exercises of the permanent evaluation and/or take the written exam in the second examination session. The final mark in the second examination session will correspond to the total average of the part for which the student may have passed during the first examination period and the part(s) for which the student was assessed during the second examination period. If the student again scores less than 10/20 for at least one part of the course, the lowest mark obtained will be entered as final mark.

For each assessment component, the course instructor will explicitly indicate the permissibility of using generative AI or MT tools, specifying whether its usage is prohibited, limited to certain extents, or fully permitted. Non-compliance with these specifications will be considered academic fraud and penalized accordingly.

Allowed unsatisfactory mark
The supplementary Teaching and Examination Regulations of your faculty stipulate whether an allowed unsatisfactory mark for this programme unit is permitted.
