HOC:
This course provides further in-depth knowledge within the domain of exercise training and rehabilitation training. It covers the physiological and methodological aspects of the adaptations that the human organism undergoes as a result of systematic and intensive exercise stimuli. The different basic characteristics and movement skills, possible physiological adaptations, and methods for optimizing these basic characteristics and movement skills are discussed. The training methods, basic laws of the training process, and training structure build upon previously acquired knowledge and are further developed. Finally, the application of exercise physiology is mainly presented in terms of rehabilitation and returning to participation.
WPO:
During the practical component, students are asked to apply the seen training principles to the rehabilitation of a patient case in the form of a workbook. Aspects of pathology, exercise therapy, (sports-)specific exercise therapy, and exercise physiology are addressed. The goal is to provide students with a general framework of the above terms and place them within the domain of physiotherapy. Students are guided in creating this workbook through various WPO lessons. Furthermore, the WPO lessons aim to support students in applying patient-centered exercise therapy and training in practice and with a view to clinical internships.
