In this course unit, students learn how to initiate and guide innovative changes within the rehabilitation field. This module focuses on developing skills to independently make proposals for implementing new quality standards based on observations and conversations in the field
Students will observe and evaluate a specific practice situation within geriatric rehabilitation, and then formulate a proposal to implement a new standard. This proposal will be reviewed against State-of-the-Art and focus on professional innovation, recommending scientific clinical guidelines as a starting point.
The implementation process is divided into several stages, taking into account the characteristics of the target groups and the factors that may hinder or promote implementation. The final product of the internship is a report according to Grol and Wensing's model.
This internship offers students the unique opportunity to combine theory and practice in a dynamic and multidisciplinary setting, with the goal of improving the quality of geriatric rehabilitation care through targeted innovations.

The student is able to
-act as an expert within geriatric rehabilitation according to the principles of evidence based practice
-as an expert within geriatric rehabilitation to implement new scientific developments and insights into geriatric rehabilitation.
The final grade is composed based on the following categories:
PRAC Internship determines 50% of the final mark.
SELF Internship determines 50% of the final mark.

The student is assessed by the on-site internship supervisor based on an evaluation form (60%). The title holder gives an assessment based on the written report (40%).
