Learning Outcomes

Learning outcomes regarding knowledge and insight
B1 The Master of Applied Informatics has advanced knowledge of and insight into the development of software in the context of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Data Science and/or Big Data applications.
B1a The Master has an advanced knowledge of the methods, techniques and platforms that are used to represent data and / or knowledge and to store, request, and exchange data and/or knowledge on a small and / or large scale and has insight into the using it.
B1b The Master has an advanced knowledge of the learning techniques and mining, learning and inference algorithms that are used to derive information and knowledge from small and / or large data sets or data streams and has insight into their use.
B1c The Master has an advanced knowledge of methods, techniques and tools used to visualize and / or present information and has insight into their use.

 
Learning outcomes regarding skills
B2 The Master of Applied Informatics has the competences to assume a leading role in the realization of complex applications within an (international) business and organizational context.
B2a In the context of software, the Master can autonomously formulate a problem definition and solution with a focus on innovation but also the technical-scientific preconditions and have these carried out.
B2b The Master is able to abstract from and critically reflect on the technological state-of-the-art of the contemporary platforms, languages and tools and can choose between the different solutions offered by the relevant sub-domains for the implementation of a project and can be / to motivate its choices in a scientific way.
B2c The Master is able to report and communicate in an efficient and effective manner within an international business context, using the most modern and most common tools, both orally and in writing and in English.

 
Learning outcomes regarding research skills
B3 The Master of Applied Informatics has the competences to conduct research within an academic or industrial context.
B3a The Master has good knowledge of the scientific literature of both theory and practice of advanced subjects from computer science.
B3b The Master can tackle a research problem autonomously and in a team, using a suitable research method.
B3c The Master is able to report and communicate in a scientific manner, both orally and in writing, to an audience of colleagues and non-colleagues and in English.

Learning outcomes regarding attitudes
B4 The Master has the correct attitudes to function as a computer scientist within a business and organizational context.
B4a The Master has a sense of responsibility, is self-critical, can deal with work pressure, is scientifically-technically curious, is disciplined and precise when working out an assignment. He/she displays these qualities both in independent work and in a team.
B4b The Master has an inquisitive attitude and an attitude of lifelong learning. He/she is able to independently acquire and process scientific and technical information by consulting professional literature (and referring to it correctly). He/she can actively keep his/her knowledge up to date.
B4c The Master is aware of the ethical, social and economic context of his/her work and strives for sustainable solutions with an eye for safety, privacy and quality.
