Learning Outcomes

General competencies

The objective of the course is to provide an introduction to the study of Social Psychology as an academic discipline.  Although many of the topics in Social Psychology can be illustrated and applied within the real world, the course will focus on a theoretical / scientific background to better understand the processes by which people interpret and behave in their social environment.

We will begin with how people perceive the social world.  We will treat social perception and cognition, or the way we develop a further understanding of people and social events, and attitudes, or how we evaluative social things (humans or their products). During the course, the main points -- concepts, theories, research and applications -- of the textbook are explained.
