Learning Outcomes

General competencies

The course contributes to the domain-specific learning outcomes of the bachelors in adult education sciences and psychology (including knowledge of central concepts, models and methods in the pedagogical and educational sciences; framing knowledge and insights within broader interdisciplinary thinking and critically analyzing and applying them...).

Students gain understanding of the field of study of pedagogy and educational sciences, as well as its connection to related fields of study such as learning psychology, sociology of education, and pedagogical-philosophical movements; the relationship between education and society; contemporary learning theories and paradigms; basic concepts of lifelong learning.

Students are introduced to an area of educational practice in which they apply these theoretical insights.

Grading

The final grade is composed based on the following categories:
Written Exam determines 100% of the final mark.

Within the Written Exam category, the following assignments need to be completed:

  • Written exam multiple choice with a relative weight of 1 which comprises 100% of the final mark.

    Note: Written exam multiple choice

Additional info regarding evaluation

The final grade consists of a written multiple-choice exam (80%) and a practical assignment (20%). If the student does not participate in one of the evaluation components, no pass for the entire course will be granted (maximum 9/20). To pass the course, the student must obtain at least the equivalent of 8/20 for all components. If the final grade would still be a grade of 10 or more out of 20, but for one part of the evaluation less than the equivalent of 8/20 was obtained, the final grade is reduced at least to the highest failing grade (i.e. 9/20).
