Course Content

The course aims to determine what is the necessary contribution of an explicit and implicit grammar discourse in FLE, in the construction of the linguistic competence of the learner. How the contributions of modern linguistics can be transposed didactically into the class of French as a foreign language, in order to mark a return of grammar in the most adapted form possible, that is to say which takes into account the requirements and needs of both the learner as the teacher of the discipline.

Course material
Course text (Required) : Morpho-syntaxe historique du français, De studenten dienen zelf nota te nemen tijdens de hoorcolleges
Additional info

The grammatical study of the system is of little use if it is not possible to find extensions in the teaching of mother tongue or second or foreign language. Thus, apart from the descriptive approaches of the system, the implications in terms of grammar of acquisition and grammar of teaching / learning are studied, as well as are proposed and described didactic exploitations in FLE. However, the vertical complementarity of approaches is not limited to such operations alone. The lessons that can be drawn from recent work on acquisition and teaching / learning (especially on interlanguage) may lead to a revision of the theory proposed to account for the system. Complementarity is therefore less a gadget than the need to account for the different interdependent areas of grammar.
