This course will be taught in DUTCH.
The courses of Cognitive Psychology covers the basic functions and processes of human cognition. Examples of covered topics are perception, attention, short and long term memory, and language (see Canvas). Laboratory exercises will cover classical experiments in cognitive psychology, e.g. lexical decision, subliminal priming and mental rotation (see Canvas). Students learn how to write a scientific report in group according to APA regulations and will apply basic quantitative analyses (t-tests) to experimental data.

The final grade is composed based on the following categories:
Written Exam determines 70% of the final mark.
PRAC Teamwork determines 30% of the final mark.

Both the exam and group report are mandatory. If no marks are obtained for either the exam or the group report, this will be scored as an absence (AFW) for the entire course.
The exam consists of a written multiple-choice exam that will be graded by positive scoring with Higher Pass Mark. For specific information regarding the group assignment, please consult Canvas. The use of generative AI is permitted to a limited extent in this assignment. Consult Canvas for more info.
Transfer of separate marks on the exam or group report to the second examination period or next academic year is automatic when the score is at least 10/20. Students cannot renounce separate marks on either exam or group report.
