Learning Outcomes

Learning outcome 1

The bachelor in engineering sciences provides a broad fundamental knowledge and know how of the fundamental principles and the methodology of exact sciences including the specificity of the applications in engineering sciences : the student has the knowledge of the most important theories and applications of the fundamentals of mechanics and its applications

Learning outcome 4

The bachelor in engineering sciences has a broad fundamental knowledge and know how of the fundamental basic methods and theories to model problems or processes : in the mechanics course the students learn to model the equations of motion of a mass point as well as the modeling methodologies to obtain the equilibrium position of a point or system of rigid bodies

Learning outcome 5

The Bachelor in Engineering Sciences has the skills to define, classify, formulate and solve engineering problems. He or she can identify shortcomings and has the potential to formulate and delimit tasks in view of a critical reflexion and to check the sustainability and social relevance of the proposed solutions : The student can apply the fundamental principles of analytical mechanics. He or she can determine the kinematical, dynamical and statical qualities and formulations of a low-dimensional mechanical problem. The student has knowledge and insight in the most important theories theories and applications of fundamental mechanics and her applications in society.

Leerresultaat 6

The Bachelor in Engineering Sciences can understand, interpret and apply the results of an analysis and modelling,in view of a continuous improvement : He or she knows the limitations of the mechanical theory and the circumstances that they can be applied. A bachelor student can understand interpret and report on scientific articles or reference texts. He or she can acquire on an independent basis basic knowledge in a subdomain of applied mechanics that within his educations has not yet been taught.

Leerresultaat 12

The Bachelor in Engineering Sciences can reason on a logical, abstract and critical basis : He or she knows the limitations of the applicability of the mechanical theories and knows in which circumstances they may be applied. He is capable of a critical reflexion on the magnitude of the results and the coherence of the dimensions.

Leerresultaat 17

The Bachelor in Engineering Sciences has a critical attitude for his own results and these of others : He or she knows the limitations of the applicability of the mechanical theories and knows in which circumstances they may be applied and is capable of a critical reflexion on the magnitude of the results and the coherence of the dimensions.

Grading

The final grade is composed based on the following categories:
Other Exam determines 100% of the final mark.

Within the Other Exam category, the following assignments need to be completed:

  • Exam with a relative weight of 1 which comprises 100% of the final mark.

    Puntenverdeling :
    tentamen(1ste sem) 40%
    1ste zittijd:
schriftelijk examen oefeningen 30% (open boek)
mondeling examen theorie 30% (gesloten boek)

    2de zittijd:
schriftelijk examen oefeningen 50% (open boek)
mondeling examen theorie 50% (gesloten boek)
