Course Content

The aim of this course is that the students approach new trends with in a critical and scientific way. After an explanation concerning the different approaches (topics, safety aspects, possible health aspects, way of action, scientific background, objective results) a new trend is chosen by every student for profound elaboration.  A report is made, presented in a power point presentation, a demonstration is given followed by a discussion.
An overview is given concerning the most recent evolutions in the fitness industry.
Specialists are invited for specific sessions. To get an overview of most new trends it is aimed to visit at least one international Fitness Convention (e.g. FIBO inGermany; Fitpro Convention in the UK, Fitness & Welness Top in The Netherlands). All students need to make a critical appraisal of these conventions followed by a discussion in the classroom.
