The programme-coordinator invites alumni to present current topics in Gerontology. Each one of the alumni is renowned for his/her expertise in the presented domain. The interaction between alumni and students will allow to communicate the reality of the field. Networking between students and alumni is stimulated.
Texts are provided, exercises and instructions are given via Canvas.
- the student becomes aware of the diversity of the gerontological profession and of the possibilities for employment;
- the student understands the usefulness of the gerontologists for daily practice;
- the student develops a critical view on the role of the gerontologist in practice and in society;
This course contributes to the role of the Gerontologist as an Expert.
The final grade is composed based on the following categories:
LEC Presentation determines 10% of the final mark.
PRAC Teamwork determines 30% of the final mark.
SELF Practical Assignment determines 60% of the final mark.

Permanent evaluation, based on presence during the course. Each absense should be announced and attested, but will have consequences for final score.
Examination in summer: only possible if 50% presence on all differnent moments during the course (lecturers, working colleges, forum)
Integrated exercise based on the acquired knowledge by writing a paper and oral defense..
