Kaaitheater even dedicates an entire season to it, just like the Studium Generale of HoGent / Ugent. The research seminar opens this up to an investigation into all possible social and theatrical ceremonies. We first read a number of basic texts about theater and ritual (Schechner, Turner, Fischer-Licht, etc.), go / participate in / in a number of performances and also attend a number of reflective moments - organized by the artistic field - (Kaaitheater, Jeroen Olyslaegers, Théâtre des martyres). In addition, we also invite a number of guests who will have a direct discussion with the students (Marijs Boulogne about lucha libre, catch and choral singing; Myriam Stoffen, co-ordinator of Zinneke Parade, Philippe Sireuil of théâtre des martyres, Michiel Vandevelde (Paradise Now) The students set up their own research and share the results (themes eg: ice hockey, le Sacre du printemps, The Monastery of Elke van Campenhout, carnival, Gay Pride, etc.)
