- Learning Outcomes
-
Learning outcome 1
The bachelor in engineering architecture provides a broad fundamental knowledge and know how of the fundamental principles and the methodology of exact sciences including the specificity of the applications in engineering sciences : the student has the knowledge of the most important theories and applications of the fundamentals of mechanics and its applications
Learning outcome 4
The bachelor in engineering architecture has a broad fundamental knowledge and know how of the fundamental basic methods and theories to model problems or processes : in the mechanics course the students learn to model the dynamical aspects as well as the modelling methodologies to obtain the equilibrium position of a point or system of rigid bodies as well as the basics of wave mechanics
Learning outcome 5
The Bachelor in Engineering architecture has the skills to define, classify, formulate and solve engineering problems. He or she can identify shortcomings and has the potential to formulate and delimit tasks in view of a critical reflexion and to check the sustainability and social relevance of the proposed solutions : The student can apply the fundamental principles of analytical mechanics. He or she can determine the kinematical and statical qualities and formulations of a low-dimensional mechanical problem and has a basis of wave mechanics. The student has knowledge and insight in the most important theories theories and applications of fundamental mechanics and her applications in society.
Learning outcome 6
The Bachelor in Engineering architecture can understand, interpret and apply the results of an analysis and modelling,in view of a continuous improvement : He or she knows the limitations of the mechanical theory and the circumstances that they can be applied. A bachelor student can understand interpret and report on scientific articles or reference texts. He or she can acquire on an independent basis basic knowledge in a subdomain of applied mechanics that within his educations has not yet been taught.
Learning outcome 12
The Bachelor in Engineering architecture can reason on a logical, abstract and critical basis : He or she knows the limitations of the applicability of the mechanical theories and knows in which circumstances they may be applied. He is capable of a critical reflexion on the magnitude of the results and the coherence of the dimensions.
Learning outcome 17
The Bachelor in Engineering architecture has a critical attitude for his own results and these of others : He or she knows the limitations of the applicability of the mechanical theories and knows in which circumstances they may be applied and is capable of a critical reflexion on the magnitude of the results and the coherence of the dimensions.
- Grading
-
The final grade is composed based on the following categories:
Other Exam determines 100% of the final mark.
Within the Other Exam category, the following assignments need to be completed:
- Theorie +oef examen
with a relative weight of 1
which comprises 100% of the final mark.
Note: Na het 1ste semester wordt een mondeling examen (gesloten boek) afgenomen over de kennis overgedragen tijdens het hoorcollege
- Additional info regarding evaluation
- 1st (after 1st semester) and 2nd session
Written exam 50 % (open book)
Oral exam 50% (closed book)
- Allowed unsatisfactory mark
- The supplementary Teaching and Examination Regulations of your faculty stipulate whether an allowed unsatisfactory mark for this programme unit is permitted.
