Course Content

The seminar work is a written assignment that consists of four parts.

In the first part, the student makes an analysis of his/her own sporting (technical, tactical, physical, medical (injuries and prevention)), academic, psychological and (psycho)social development from mid-October to 30 April of the current academic year. This is reported by means of a diary and semesterial evaluations. Attention: we have to note the difference with the work you made in ESSCP1 and ESSCP2.

In the second part the student describes how one would guide/teach an elite athlete in their own sport in the elite sport school with emphasis on technical, tactical, physical, didactical and mental learning lines. You build on the athlete you discussed in the first and second year and pay attention to aspects of athletes' wellbeing (physical and mental).

In the third part, the own combination of elite sport and study is critically evaluated. A new student-athlete from the first year at university (whether or not from the same sport, whether or not from our faculty) is selected for guidance. Your advice/guidance is described in detail in the report.

In the fourth part you will describe and analyze the policy of your own sport federation concerning talent detection and career planning.

Additional info

The student has to read the specific literature of the own sport on a regular basis

The student can always contact the coordinator of the service Topsport en Studie for interim feedback.
