Course Content

Study and interpretation of clinical scientific research with regard to syndromes that are discussed in the internships and relate to the attainment targets as defined under "medicus" level expert plus.

Teaching methods:

Interactive seminars: 1h per week (own time also 1h each)

Evening seminar: 1x per 2 months 2 hours (once a year 25 hours for your own session)

Interuniversity course (AVU via website BVAR)

Scientific meetings in the service: 4x / year 2 h; proposals for new studies, discussion of protocols and results of completed clinical studies. Own contribution ASO each 4 h preparation.

Graduation day: scientific presentation of ASOs own work

National Congress BVAR November: free nm starts with workshops; sat vm congress and nm. satellite conference (12 h)

Grading

The final grade is composed based on the following categories:
Other Exam determines 30% of the final mark.
SELF Presentation determines 20% of the final mark.
SELF Paper determines 50% of the final mark.

Within the Other Exam category, the following assignments need to be completed:

  • Portfolio with a relative weight of 30 which comprises 30% of the final mark.

  • Presentatie with a relative weight of 20 which comprises 20% of the final mark.

  • Publicatie with a relative weight of 50 which comprises 50% of the final mark.

Additional info regarding evaluation

Within the SELF Practical Assignment category, the following assignments must be completed:

• portfolio assessment interview with a weighting factor of 0.3 and thus 30% of the total final mark.

Presentation abstract on conference / graduation day on study of own work - weighting factor 0.2 (20%)

Writing out scientific work (publication) of own work - weighting factor 0.5 (50%)
