Course Content

The course provides knowledge of the basic structures and cell biology-related mechanisms in an eukaryote cell. The course will cover aspects from cells to genomes, including cell structure and organelles, cell membrane and signaling, cell chemistry, cell junctions and extracellular matrix, intracellular organization, and visualizing of cells.

General competencies

After following this course, the student is expected to
- have an in-depth understanding of the molecular organization of cells 
- know the basic mechanisms of cell structures, signaling, cell chemistry and junctions, and intracellular organization.
- understand the principles of the techniques to visualize cells

The final grade is composed based on the following categories:
Oral Exam determines 70% of the final mark.
Other determines 30% of the final mark.

Within the Oral Exam category, the following assignments need to be completed:

  • Oral exam with a relative weight of 1 which comprises 70% of the final mark.

Within the Other category, the following assignments need to be completed:

  • Quizzes with a relative weight of 1 which comprises 30% of the final mark.
