Design of real-time systems : choice of hard/soft, languages, simulators, emulators, logic analysers. Real-time software : time- and event-driven scheduling, Real-time operating systems. Industrial networks, field buses.

Teaching methods :

Lectures : 2 ECTS (12x2h), Labs : 3 ECTS (9x4h) to illustrate the lectures; 3 labs are devoted to difficulties related to small microcomputers and real-time debug. 6 labs are devoted to a project of distributed system based upon CAN and CANOpen.

Method of assessment : Oral examination Question 1 : the student has to prepare at home and present a 20 min speech over a microprocessor which has not been studied in the lectures; Question 2 : chosen by the examinator to complete aspects not seen in question 1.
