Grading

The final grade is composed based on the following categories:
Written Exam determines 50% of the final mark.
PRAC Practical Assignment determines 50% of the final mark.

Within the Written Exam category, the following assignments need to be completed:

  • written exam with a relative weight of 1 which comprises 50% of the final mark.

    Note: For the theoretical part, a written exam is organized. No course notes, textbooks, syllabus, personal notes, calculators, computers, etc., are allowed during the exam. The aim of the exam is to check the students' ability to understand and master the general concepts covered during the course.

Within the PRAC Practical Assignment category, the following assignments need to be completed:

  • project with a relative weight of 1 which comprises 50% of the final mark.

    Note: The practical part for the finite element method consists of programming parts of a finite element computer program and a project in which a numerical analysis of an engineering problem is discussed. The project is evaluated on the base of a written report of the practical part.
