Course Content

Statistical analysis, also called inferential statistics, is considered a pre-requisite for this course. Basic Mathematics as specified in the final attainment levels for secondary education (3 hours of mathematics) are necessary knowledge for the interpretation of statistical models, and therefore also necessary prior knowledge for this course.

In this course, the following topics will be discussed:
- Repeating bivariate tests
- Exploratory factor analysis (EFA)
- Simple and multiple linear regression
- Binary and multinomial logistic regression
- Statistical literacy
- Exploration of possibilities and datasets on Statbel and Eurostat
These issues will be addressed with practice in mind. Students are expected to be able to do the usual tests with the help of SPSS/PSPP. The student must be able to interpret and report the SPSS results. The course will consist of a mixture of teaching and exercises.

Additional info

Study material will be made available through Canvas during the course: ppt's, exercise bundle and additional text material.
