- Course Content
This course focuses on theories and practices regarding professional development and leadership (PDL).
In this course, students will acquire knowledge, skills and attitudes to design learning paths for professionals and enhance their professional leadership skills based on recent findings of research on professional development and leadership.
A focus will be given on the definitions & linking the two concepts of professional development & leadership, including:
- Professional Development Theories
- Application of theories
- PD Models
- Leadership theories & leadership styles
Specific learning objectives of this course include:
- Understand the concept of professional development
- Understand the concept of leadership and leadership development
- Understand the relevance and importance of professional development in general and especially in the education sector
- Understand the relevance and importance of leadership development in general and especially in the education sector
- Apply concepts of professional develop to develop and implement professional development programme or training
- Apply concepts and theories of leadership development to develop and implement leadership development programme or training
The students will apply relevant theories and models into a professional development and leadership (PDL) project design.
