Additional info

The specific content of this course demands sufficient attendance to learn the practical aspects of each sport and to be able, in a later phase, guide the learning process.

If students are between 2 and 10 minutes too late, it will be considered as a 1/2 attendance. More than 10 minutes too late will be considered as (legal or not legal) absence.

A student can only participate in the exams only with enough attendances:
A sport which is been given once a week during 1 semester: the student is allowed to be illegally absent 2 times;
A sport which is been given twice a week during 1 semester: the student is allowed to be illegally absent 4 times;
A sport which is been given once a week during 2 semesters: the student is allowed to be illegally absent 4 times;
Etc.

Extra course material, supplementary to the obliged course material, can be made available on the learning platform or other electronic carriers of the selected sports.

Additional costs can be charged for the watersport internship around 650 euro or for the wintersport internship around 1200 euro.

Additional info regarding evaluation

PRACTICAL EXAM:

Information on how the score for each sport is determined, is communicated on the learning platform.

THEORETICAL EXAM:
The theoretical exam of all these different sports (= parts of the exam) will be organized once in January and once in June. It will be only a written exam. The parts (sports) finished in January are final and will not be repeated in June. The exact content that will be examined will be described on the learning platform at the beginning of the academic year.

Every part (sport) of the exam receives a score on 20 and therefore an equal weight in the final result. In case of fails for certain components (sports) AND an average of all sports ABOVE or equal to 10/20, the following rule applies for the final mark:
- 2 x 9/20 = average
- 1 x 8 /20 = average
- more than 2 points below 10 = 7/20 or the lowest mark
- In case of fails for certain components (sports) AND an average of all sports LOWER to 10/20, the following rule applies for the final mark: lowest mark

Total score of the theoretical exam will be an unrounded score on 20

FINAL SCORE
The sum of the total scores (practical + theoretical) is recalculated to a rounded (< 0,5 lower score, >= 0,5 higher score) score on 20.
In case of fails for certain components (practical exam of all different sports or the theoretical exam as a whole) AND an average of all sports ABOVE or equal to 10/20, the following rule applies for the final mark:
- 2 x 9/20 = average
- 1 x 8 /20 = average
- more than 2 points below 10 = 7/20 or the lowest mark
- In case of fails for certain components AND an average of all sports LOWER than 10/20, the following rule applies for the final mark: lowest mark

When failing (score <49/100) on parts of the exam after the first term the student only has to take these parts to the second term.

When failing (total score <49/100) in the second term the student will have to follow this course again in the next academic year, but scores of parts (sports) for which both the theory and practice were scored = or > 10/20 will be transmitted. This will be done automatically.

In none of the above cases the student will be able to abandon the automatic transmission of scores on parts (sports) for which a score = or < 10/20 was obtained.

In the case of too much absence in the courses as described in “Additional info”, the student will not be allowed to participate to the exams in the first and second exam period. The student will receive 0/20 for both exam periods.

The supplementary Teaching and Examination Regulations of your faculty stipulate whether an allowed unsatisfactory mark for this programme unit is permitted.
