Course Content

This is a cross-curricular course that mainly focuses on the development of interprofessional and intercultural/international competencies in students. This course is part of the learning line 'interprofessional education within health care' in which various health care educational programs of VUB and EhB are involved and collaborate in different projects throughout the academic year.

In addition, we prepare students for the clinical internships part I (2nd semester 3BARE) in the broader context of the profession and in particular the clinical reasoning process.

Course material
Digital course material (Recommended) : communicaties op Canvas, Canvas
Additional info

This course is organized as project teaching. For each project, participation is mandatory. For some projects, students need to register on time and correctly according to the guidelines (communicated via Canvas). If a student does not register on time or correctly, he/she can no longer participate in a certain project and this is considered an illegal absence.

Guidelines, deadlines and arrangements will be communicated through Canvas.

Within the PRAC Practical Assignment category, the following assignments need to be completed:

  • projecten with a relative weight of 100 which comprises 100% of the final mark.

Additional info regarding evaluation

If the student is unauthorized absent for at least one project, the student will receive 0/20 as an examination result in both sitting periods.

In case of a legitimate absence (the student must submit proof of the legitimate absence to the faculty secretary as described in the OER), the student must contact the titular of the course within the week following the project for remediation. If the student fails to do so, the absence will still be considered illegal.

Absences due to elite sports activities of the students with elite sports status should be coordinated with the Top Sport and Study Department at the beginning of the semester to provide a possible alternative date of WPO or substitute assignment.

Peer assessments will be used to establish the score for some projects. The result will be an individual adjustment factor. Such assessments should be completed in time, before the deadline (communicated through Canvas). If no peer assessment is completed by the deadline, an adjustment factor of 0.7 will automatically be assigned to the student who did not submit.

Some of the projects cannot be taken in second session time and no alternative assignment can be offered for these.

The partial result of an exam is automatically carried over to the second term if the result is at least 10/20. A student may not waive the automatic transfer of the partial result. A partial result of an examination part cannot be transferred to the next academic year.

In case of failing grades on certain components, i.e. a grade lower than 8/20, the weighted average is deviated and the lowest partial result counts as the examination result.

The supplementary Teaching and Examination Regulations of your faculty stipulate whether an allowed unsatisfactory mark for this programme unit is permitted.
