The aim is to give an overview of and insight in the field of Spatial Planning- and Environmental law .
In the first place attention will be given to the spatial planning instruments (including aspects relating to the content of these instruments), the ground- and housing policy and the possibilities of expropriation, the building permits (the acts that are subject to permit, licensing criteria, procedures to apply for a permit and appeal procedures), the possibilities to deviate from planning law and the issue of the constructions that are “out of place”), and the regulation for offences against construction law. A number of other environmental regulations are also relevant and to be taken into account. An overview of these regulations will be presented, and special attention will be given to the environmental permits, heritage and real estate legacy law, the protection of nature, water policy, public footpaths and bridleways, the special permits for trade and commerce buildings, the associations for the protection of the environment,…

The aim is not to transfer academical knowledge, but to learn and incite practical and critical skills, by working continuously with a lot of “real life”-case examples that are linked with the theory of zoning and environmental law.
