In this course knowledge from ‘Research Methology in Movement Sciences’, ‘Introductional statistics in movement sciences’, ‘Advanced statistics in movement sciences’ and ‘Movement and health education and promotion I’ will be used to develop a study protocol, statistical plan and measuring instruments to evaluate a health promotion intervention. Focus will be on effect-, process- as well as impact evaluation. In addition, insights will be given in new research trends in the domain of health promotion.

- are able to choose an appropriate research design and statistical plan to evaluate a health promotion intervention (effect-, process- and impact evaluation)
- are able to critically reflect on the quality of a research design and statistical plan to evaluate a health promotion intervention
- are able to develop measuring instruments to evaluate a health promotion intervention and to assess the validity and reliability of these instruments through own data collection and analysis
- are able to critically reflect on the quality of measuring instruments to evaluate a health promotion intervention
- have insight in new research trends in the domain of health promotion and can apply these new trends in the development and evaluation of an intervention

In the first as well as the second term, the theoretical test consists of an oral exam.
100% presence is requested for the practical exercises. In case of authorized absence, the practical exercise needs to be overtaken before the start of the exam period. Missing any practical exercise will result in 0/20 as final score for the practical exercises.
Both parts (theoretical exam and practical exercises) count for 50% of the ECTS credits. For both parts a minimum of 10/20 is required. If not, the lowest score will be applied as final score. A part for which at least 10/20 was earned can be transferred from 1st to 2nd exam session.
