Course Content

Students are introduced to insights from conversation analysis and linguistic discourse analysis and learn how to apply them in practice to media texts (spoken and written genres: political speeches, advertising,
new and social media). Topics like argumentation, fake news and generative AI applications are discussed from a linguistic viewpoint.

AI applications are discussed in class but not allowed in the written open book exam.

Written Exam determines 100% of the final mark.

Within the Written Exam category, the following assignments need to be completed:

Schriftelijk examen with a relative weight of 100 which comprises 100% of the final mark.

The open book exam takes place in a computer room. Online sources may be consulted. Communication with others will not be allowed.
