Om Approaches to the Literary Canon in English te kunnen opnemen, moet je geslaagd zijn voor Literature in English: 19th to 21st Centuries, of dit vak tenminste opnieuw registreren. Geef steeds voorrang aan vakken uit de laagste fase van je opleiding. Als je een verkort programma volgt, kan je dit vak zo opnemen.

Inhoud

This course focuses on genre and media innovation in literature in English, with an emphasis on twentieth-century modernist literature. Through the study of a selection of texts, students gain insight in the interplay between literature and (mass) media, going from the popular press to film and radio. How did new media developments influence twentieth-century literature in English? How did authors engage with new media? To what extent are these developments still relevant today?

De beoordeling bestaat uit volgende opdrachtcategorieën:
Examen Mondeling bepaalt 100% van het eindcijfer

Binnen de categorie Examen Mondeling dient men volgende opdrachten af te werken:

Examen Mondeling met een wegingsfactor 100 en aldus 100% van het totale eindcijfer.

Toelichting: Participatie bepaalt 20% van het eindcijfer

If the student is late or absent for a particular part, s/he obtains 0/20 for this specific part.
In case the student fails the course, the student will need to retake all exam parts. If the student fails the 'participation’ part, s/he will need to submit a short paper.
