Course Content

The course focuses on the analysis of the interaction between Spanish-language literature and various forms of artistic expression (photography, film, comics, music...), promoting critical analysis and reflection on how these influences enrich the literary experience, as well as their impact on the perception of the original work and the understanding of cultural diversity and identity in the Spanish-speaking world.

Learning Outcomes

General competencies

- The student will explore the relationship between literature in Spanish and various forms of artistic expression.
- The student will analyze how literary works in Spanish are adapted, reinterpreted, or reimagined in different media.
- The student will develop critical analysis skills and reflect on the perception of literary works when adapted in an intermedial context.

Grading

The final grade is composed based on the following categories:
LEC Practical Assignment determines 60% of the final mark.
LEC Report determines 30% of the final mark.
SELF Presentation determines 10% of the final mark.

Within the LEC Practical Assignment category, the following assignments need to be completed:

  • Project + rapport with a relative weight of 60 which comprises 60% of the final mark.

Within the LEC Report category, the following assignments need to be completed:

  • Schriftelijk analyse with a relative weight of 10 which comprises 30% of the final mark.

Within the SELF Presentation category, the following assignments need to be completed:

  • Mondelinge presentatie with a relative weight of 30 which comprises 10% of the final mark.

Additional info regarding evaluation

Partial grades of the written analysis (30%) cannot be transferred to a later exam session.
