Students are introduced into the principles and practice of writing journalistic texts. Journalism is a craft. Learning a craft requires exercises in writing and rewriting. This course focuses on spelling, sentence structure and word usage, attractive writing (variation in sentence structure and sentence type), and appropriate texts and paragraph structures (sections, headings, subheadings, and points of view).
"What is news?" Students get introductive insights and exercises to tackle that question.

- The student has introductive insight in accuracy, clarity, attractiveness and appropriateness of journalistic texts.
- The student can build various journalistic texts, can organize (paragraphs, headings and sub-headings, structure indicators), and can formulate his/her texts with attention to style differences: accuracy, clarity, attractiveness and appropriateness.
- The student knows at junior level what "news" is, what not, and why so.
The final grade is composed based on the following categories:
Written Exam determines 75% of the final mark.
Other Exam determines 25% of the final mark.
