Offer 1 with catalog number 1021120CNR for all students in the 1st and 2nd semester at a (C) Bachelor - specialised level.
The aim of the internship is to link the theoretical knowledge to practical knowledge of the field. An internship gives the opportunity to acquire work experience in a criminological relevant setting.
The search for an internship place starts in second bachelor year, with an introductory information session, which is compulsory to attend.
In the first semester of the third bachelor year lectures are organised on methodological and ethical issues to prepare the students to the intership that takes place in the second semester.
The student takes the initiative to start the internship procedure before 15 October of the third bachelor year, by contacting the internship coordinator.
During the internship the student spends 300 hours in the criminological relevant field.
It is possible to do an internshipship abroad or at a French speaking setting.
During the internship students conduct an empirical research that will be the basis for the bachelor thesis.
Working students, who fulfill a paid job during the day can fulfill an alternative assignment, which differs according to wether the student has work experience in a criminological setting or not. This can be combined with a short 'observation' internship of 70 hours.
Permission to fulfill an alternative assignment has to be asked at the president of the internship commission by e-mail.
