The Master Thesis in Urban Studies involves an original research assignment, carried out by the student and documented in the form of a written thesis report. The research work and the reporting is guided by at least one supervisor from one of the departments contributing to the Master in Urban Studies curriculum.

- to formulate research questions with the help of the supervisor;
- to acquire information independently and judge it in relation to answering the research questions posed;
- to follow up and analyse developments in the chosen research field;
- to use qualitative and/or quantitative methods and techniques;
- to critically analyse research results;
- to learn to communicate intermediate and final research results to academic colleagues (students, researchers) and to a wider audience.
The final grade is composed based on the following categories:
