This course aims to help students with the development of their master's thesis by brushing up on and deepening a number of basic skills for linguistic research. It offers tools for conducting research in the field of linguistics and the opportunity to discuss one’s own research topic and research process with fellow students, lecturers and researchers. In contrast to the courses on research methodology in the bachelor's programme, the emphasis is more on autonomy and reflection. Students gain insight into how research domains develop in linguistics, and are stimulated to develop a personal view on a chosen subject.
