Inhoud

Business students must recognize that business law will be a fundamental aspect of their careers, even if their undertaking never gets embroiled in a legal dispute. Therefore, it is crucial for business students to attain a basic comprehension of the legal environment in which undertakings function. They must be capable of evaluating and predicting the potential legal hazards involved in every business decision-making process.

To impart this knowledge, the introductory course has been structured into three modules. The first module provides students with an introduction to essential concepts and legal structures that are imperative for comprehending legal reasoning and the significance of law. The second module is dedicated to examining the influence of European Union law on businesses operating within Europe. The third module emphasizes business organization law, with a specific focus on the various organizational structures accessible to undertakings.

The course material consists of study material posted on the electronic learning platform throughout the semester.

The course itself comprises:

- 12 lectures (12 x 3 hours)
- a mock exam (1 x 2 hours)
- a Q&A session (1 x 1 hours)
- online self-test questions (12 x 0,5 hours)

Upon successful completion of this introductory course, students

Beoordelingsinformatie

De beoordeling bestaat uit volgende opdrachtcategorieën:
Examen Schriftelijk bepaalt 100% van het eindcijfer

Binnen de categorie Examen Schriftelijk dient men volgende opdrachten af te werken:

  • Written Exam met een wegingsfactor 100 en aldus 100% van het totale eindcijfer.

    Toelichting: The written exam is a “closed book” exam. Examples of questions will be provided during the lectures and will be available via the electronic learning platform.

Aanvullende info mbt evaluatie

The written exam will comprise 20 multiple-choice questions with four alternatives. It uses the “higher mark pass” as correction mechanism. No marks are deducted for a wrong answer, but the pass or fail mark (the number of questions that must be answered correctly to get 10/20) will take into account the probability of guessing. In concrete terms, this means that you must answer 12 questions correctly to pass the exam (although you should always aim for the highest score)
