- Course Content
The student is employed in a training practice and carries out daily family practice activities under the supervision of an accredited GP trainer and in collaboration with other training practice collaborators.
The student keeps a personal e-portfolio in which he/ she documents his/ her learning activities and activities in the learning practice, and reflects on it in a scientifically way through e.g. casuistic, presentations, self-analysis,...
The focus in this course lies on the profound integration and application of the acquired theoretical knowledge and insights into the student’s own operating framework.

Algemene competenties
After successful completion of this course, the student can perform more complex tasks in daily clinical practice and make more complex diagnostic and therapeutic choices based on the underlying theoretical frameworks, underpinned by the knowledge and skills acquired during the courses Internships 1 and 2 .

The final grade is composed based on the following categories:
SELF Internship determines 100% of the final mark.
Within the SELF Internship category, the following assignments need to be completed:

which comprises 100% of the final mark.

The evaluation of this course consists of two parts:
- overall evaluation of the student by the GP trainer (counts for 70% of the final result) based on:
- process evaluation:
- direct observation of 5 consultations conducted by the student, evaluated using a structured score and feedback form;
- 3-monthly interviews between GP trainer and student about the student’s progress;
- case-based learning interviews (according to the CanMEDS roles) between GP trainer and student.
- self assessment / peer assessment:
- the student’s reflection on each of the 5 consultations evaluated by the GP trainer (see above);
- feedback from colleagues and staff working in the training practice on the student's functioning.
- overall evaluation (process evaluation) of the student by the practice trainer (counts for 30% of the final result) based on:
- two interviews per academic year between the practice trainer and the student in which they discuss the student’s progress based on all the material about the training practice uploaded in the e-portfolio;
- an annual consultation between the GP trainer and the practice trainer regarding the functioning and progress of the student in the clinical practice.
The results of this course are not tolerable.
