Purpose of this course is that the students have a first insight in the most relevant and usefull concepts of management and Human Ressources Management.
Topics to be studied :
- Introduction to management and history
- Overview of relevant, actual management theories
- Strategy and value creation of an organisation

This course provides general concepts in management and HRM
Purpose of this course :
- Students can explain the different theories that will be covered in the course
- Students can identify the complementarity and the differences between the theories covered in the course
- In a given case, students can apply the different theories and explain which theory fits best
- Students can explain the role of management and HR in an organization and their impact .

The final grade is composed based on the following categories:
Written Exam determines 100% of the final mark.
Within the Written Exam category, the following assignments need to be completed:
- Written Exam
with a relative weight of 100
which comprises 100% of the final mark.

The written exam (100% _ closed book) is composed of 3 parts, each of them of equal weight:
- 3 open questions
- 15 true-false questions (possibly wtih a higher pass mark as a correction mechanism)
- 15 multiple-choice questions (possibly with a hoger pass mark as a correction mechanism)
The final score of the exam is the sum of the above-mentioned 3 parts.
- Allowed unsatisfactory mark
- The supplementary Teaching and Examination Regulations of your faculty stipulate whether an allowed unsatisfactory mark for this programme unit is permitted.
