Course Content

Study and interpretation of clinical scientific research regarding the diseases that are dealt with in the internships and those that are related to the final qualification as defined under ‘physician’ expert plus level.

WORKING METHODS 

Interactive seminars: 1h per week (own time also 1h each)  

Evening seminar: 1x per 2 months 2 hours (once a year 25 hours for your own session) 

Interuniversity course (AVU via BVAR website) 

Scientific meetings in the service: 4x / year 2 h; proposals for new studies, discuss protocols and results of completed clinical trials. Own input ASO every 4 hours of preparation. 

Graduation day: scientific presentation of ASO's own work 

National Congress BVAR November: start free with workshops; sat at the congress and nm. satellite congress (12 h)

Grading

The final grade is composed based on the following categories:
Other Exam determines 30% of the final mark.
SELF Presentation determines 20% of the final mark.
SELF Paper determines 50% of the final mark.

Within the Other Exam category, the following assignments need to be completed:

• Portfolio with a relative weight of 30 which comprises 30% of the final mark.
  
  Note: portfolio beoordelingsgesprek met een wegingsfactor 0.3 en aldus 30% van het totale eindcijfer.

Within the SELF Presentation category, the following assignments need to be completed:

• Presentatie with a relative weight of 20 which comprises 20% of the final mark.
  
  Note: Voorstelling abstract op congres/graduation day over studie eigen werk – wegingsfactor 0.2 (20%)

Within the SELF Paper category, the following assignments need to be completed:

• Publicatie with a relative weight of 50 which comprises 50% of the final mark.
  
  Note: Uitschrijven wetenschappelijk werk (publicatie) van eigen werk – wegingsfactor 0.5 (50%)​

Additional info regarding evaluation

Within the SELF Practice Assignment category, the following assignments must be completed: 

• Portfolio assessment interview with a relative weight of 0.3 and thus 30% of the final mark  

Explanation: portfolio with an assessment interview based on reflection reports 

Presentation abstract at congress / graduation day of study own work – relative weight 0.2 (20%) 

Scientific work - preparation publication – relative weight 0.5 (50%) 

Write scientific work (publication) of own work – relative weight 0.5 (50%)
