This course comprises the workplace-learning:
The internist acquires specialist knowledge in the field of diagnosis, therapy and prognosis in the most common clinical images within Internal Medicine. The diagnostic policy is effective and efficient. Within the context of patients, the internist formulates advice on problems concerning the treatment, the lifestyle, non-pharmaceutical therapy and prognosis. The internist adequately reports both orally and written. The internist reflects on personal competences and works on quality improvement in practicing his/her profession by keeping a portfolio with self-reflection.

OLR 1: Has acquired profound medical knowledge and insights in the specialism (M, W).
OLR 3: Has further enhanced the problem-solving capacity and applies this in practice (M, W).
OLR 15: Takes into account the economic aspects of medicine and uses the available resources accordingly, avoiding under- and overuse (M).
OLR 18: Is capable of introducing “standards of care” and quality requirements with regard to the different aspects of formulating one’s own specialism (M, Ma).

Other Exam determines 100% of the final mark.
Within the Other Exam category, the following assignments need to be completed:
Tool ‘Case discussion’ in Medbook (1x/internship period)
Tool ‘KKB’ in Medbook (1x/internship period)
Performance interview during and after each internship period (with local internship supervisor)
Assessment interview at the end of the 5th year of education with the coordinating training supervisor for passing the course (100%, PASS/FAIL)
