Offer 1 with catalog number 6021854FNR for all students in the 1st and 2nd semester at a (F) Master - specialised level.
The ASO hones the problem-solving capability during the various seminars and day-to-day work, comparable to ‘Problem-solving capability in Otorhinolaryngology, part 1’, but including more complicated cases.
WORKING METHODS
Daily practice in the operating theatre, consultation for children and adults, room physician, bedside teaching
Interactive seminars: during weekly postgraduate/department meeting: 1h/week (each time also 1h for guidance of Master’s students): case discussions, KKB
MOC: 1x/week, 2h of multidisciplinary oncological consult (for room physician and/or student following Head- and Neck Surgery)
Referring evening: 2x/year, 3h
Weekly room tour under supervision: 2h/week (Monday morning, Friday morning, Tuesday afternoon)
Daily debriefing: 0.5h/day
OLR 1: Has acquired profound medical knowledge and insights in the specialism (M, W).
OLR 3: Has further enhanced the problem-solving capacity and applies this in practice (M, W).
OLR 15: Takes into account the economic aspects of medicine and uses the available resources accordingly, avoiding under- and overuse (M).
OLR 18: Is capable of introducing “standards of care” and quality requirements with regard to the different aspects of formulating one’s own specialism (M, Ma).
OLR 4: Can communicate correctly with a patient and his/her environment in a humane and empathic way, taking into account the ethical, social and multicultural aspects (diversity) and within the relevant legislation (C)
OLR 19: Satisfies the general and specific final objectives, inherent to the specialism, concerning diagnostics and syndromes/diseases (M, W).

Other Exam determines 100% of the final mark.
Within the Other Exam category, the following assignments need to be completed:
Portfolio with performance interviews and assessment interview at the end, level expert plus (100%).
