Course Content

The master thesis reflects the reasoning ability of the ASO on a specific issue.

During the master thesis, the ASO demonstrates the professional status and/or scientific aspects, that support the specialty, to be able to think clinically. The master thesis reflects the general critical attitude of the specialist with regards to a specific problem and his or her capacity to provide answers to the questionnaire, usually coming from real clinical observations and/or study. The master thesis allows the clinical work and research skills to be evaluated and encourages the ASO a lifelong continuation of a scientific attitude. The ASO can present its work in a clear and understandable way, answer the questions about it and effectively start a discussion about the topic of the master thesis.

The master thesis will be divided over several years;

Graduation year – 2: In this year the ASO submits a first report (registration). This consists of announcing the subject, working out the hypothesis based on literature research and writing out the experimental design.

Graduation year – 1: In this year the ASO submits a progress report containing the method for data collection and data procession and possibly the first results of the experimental design.

Graduation year:  Submission of a Scientific presentation with oral or verbal defense.

The contents can be read in the General Master's Thesis for the Manama Specialist Medicine. These regulations can be found at the SharePoint for ASOs.
