Course Content

The internship counts a minimum of 90h that need to be performed in a sportsclub of the chosen sport specialisation. This internship should take place in the highest divisions of the youth (min. 30% of the hours) and of the seniors (min 30% of the hours). Target groups can be discussed with the primary instructor depending on the chosen sport. A permant internship in one of both target groups at 2 trainings a week during 1 season is obliged and counts for 30h. The club of the internship is approved by the titular and the local mentor needs to have at least the trainer A degree of the VTS. Each internship will start with 5 hours observation of each trainer (mentor). A observation summary has to be made. One should guide the training sessions but needs also to coach in the competition. From all actions reports need to be wriiten with own reflection as a central theme.

The chosen sportclubs are preferably not the same clubs as in the Professional internship TC 1. International internship is strongly encouraged.

Furthermore their are Capita Selecta. In this part internationally recognized coaches with (inter-)national expertise will share their knowledge.

A report is made of all capita selecta presentations. We suggest to try their tips in your internship and we like to write down your experiences in the internship workbook in the form of your reflection reports.

Finally an internship of minimally 40h needs to be performed in the sports federation. It will let you experience the way of working of the federation. Preferably you will also give training at the "topsportschool" (if present) or you will organise/guide a training camp for the elite youth or seniors. These experiences with a critical reflections needs to be incorporated in the workbook as well.

Course material
Course text (Required) : Trainer A cursus binnen de specialisatiesport
Additional info

The coordination of this internship will be done by the VTS liaison officer Yannick Prévost.

Contact him in time, at start of the first semester.

He will point out an internal guide for you en together with you a club for the internship will be chosen.

For all capita selecta sessions presence is obliged. In case of an invalid absence, you will be refused to participate to the exams in both the  first and second exam period and you will get a score of 0/20 in both exam periods.

International internship is strongly encouraged. Participation in international internship is a valid reason for not attending a Capita Selecta session.

The workbook you make needs to incorporate all your work that you have done in your master concerning your particular sport so it can serve as your personal portfolio for the future.
