Immersion in the diagnosis, treatment, prevention and prognosis of the illnesses (general genetics, oncogenetics, genomic stage, predisposition and development, prenatal, metabolic, cardiogenetics, neurogenetics, nefrogenetics, genodermatoses and other smaller specialized sections within the topic of genetics), wich are mentioned in level expert plus.

Working methods (additional info)

This course embodies workplace learning

Interactive seminars: (at least 1 x/week during 1 hour) organised within the focus of the internship.

These are weekly clinical discussions of the department Clinical Genetics (attendance at at least 80% of the meetings is mandatory).

Multidisciplinary Consultation: 1x/2 weeks 1 hour including oncology, prenatal, cardiogenetics (depending on internship).

LOK: 1-2x/week local quality assessment groups (LOK is a group of fellow practitioners and laboratory specialists who share and critically evaluate their own and each other’s practice of clinical genetics with the goal of improving the quality of care; for example concerning general genetics, oncogenetics and cardiogenetics).

Exam (50%):
- 1st session, ECMGG exam in the third/penultimate year
- 2nd sitting, ECMGG exam in the fourth/final year
