Course Content

1) Follow a series of seminars including a strong bio-ethics aspect
2) Analyze and discuss a provoking statement (a written report is requested). This is made under the supervision of a Biology staff member.

General compentencies

The aim of this course is to acquire knowledge and understanding about bio-ethics and recognize the implications in a scientific and societal context.

Grading

The final grade is composed based on the following categories:
LEC Presentation determines 40% of the final mark.
SELF Paper determines 60% of the final mark.

Within the LEC Presentation category, the following assignments need to be completed:

  • Contribution sessions with a relative weight of 40 which comprises 40% of the final mark.

Within the SELF Paper category, the following assignments need to be completed:

  • Essay with a relative weight of 60 which comprises 60% of the final mark.

Additional info regarding evaluation

Evaluation: 40% based on the participation to the seminar series and 60 % based on the report.
