Course Content

- Part I: The student conducts experimental research on a problem within the field of study of the program and is supervised by a promotor, who can be assisted by one or more co-promotors and/or supervisors. The scientifically based findings of this research are described by the student in a Master thesis supported by bibliographic data and presented during a public defence.

- Part II: The student writes a research proposal.

- Part I: Master Thesis – 80% of the final assessment

The evaluation of the Master thesis consists of an assessment of the practical and written work, and an assessment of its presentation and defense.

When exceptional admission has been granted for registration for the 'Master thesis 27 ECTS', the Master thesis can only be defended when the predefined registration requirements have been fully met.

- Part II: Research proposal – 20% of the final assessment

The research proposal is assessed by both the promoter and 2 independent commissioners. If the Research Proposal is submitted too late, the student is automatically referred to the next examination period.

A second session is only possible if the student has passed the experimental work.

Consult the Master Thesis Regulations on Canvas for a detailed description of the assessment information.
