Course Content

This course consists of lectures (HOC) and interactive practical sessions (WPO).

There are two main parts in terms of content:

   Part 1 deals with the pathophysiology of diseases with an emphasis on the

   impact on and interactions between organs / tissues.

   Part 2 deals with the clinic and treatment of diabetes and endocrine

   diseases.

Learning Outcomes

General Competences

Part 1. Knowledge of, and insight into, mechanisms that can lead to or prevent symptoms and syndromes, and use this in the selection of diagnostic tests. This course also serves as a basis for understanding preventive and therapeutic interventions and for situating medical scientific research. It forms a bridge between the basic biomedical subjects and the clinical subjects, and a gateway to clinical internships. It also encourages curious and creative students to open the door to medical scientific research.

Part 2. Basic knowledge of the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of the most common forms of diabetes and the main endocrine diseases

 

Grading

The final grade is composed based on the following categories:
Written Exam determines 100% of the final mark.

Within the Written Exam category, the following assignments need to be completed:

  • ExamenSchriftelijk with a relative weight of 100 which comprises 100% of the final mark.

Additional info regarding evaluation

The exam consists of a written exam, both in the first and second exam period. No partial exemptions are given for the second exam period.
