Through project-based learning, this course unit aims to provide a framework in which students can have a practical application and in-depth reflection on theoretical concepts concerning Translation Studies as well as multilingual and intercultural communication, which are keystones of the study programme. It also provides a framework in which students and Brussels-based CSOs can join forces to tackle specific (metropolitan) challenges and develop good practices in intercultural communication.

OBJECTIVES: The main objective of this course is to use project-based learning in the form of participatory action research to strengthen the students' multilingual background, theoretical knowledge and intercultural skills, so that they can apply these learning outcomes to community engagement on campus, in Brussels and beyond. This course unit also seeks to provide a context for students to further develop their soft-skills and professional skills.
