Inhoud

This course offers a historical overview of the main literary movements within (Western) European literature. It studies literary developments in their socio-cultural context and highlights the most important genres and authors for each movement. By studying representative examples, students gain insight into the different movements, their interrelations and developments. The course provides a literary-historical framework that serves as a basis for further literary study.
