This course will further develop your research skills as an educational scientist in the framework of your master thesis. You will expand your competences that will contribute to each of the steps that educational scientist conduct in their research.This will start off with the development of a research proposal, followed by specific attention on conducting different types of literature reviews. Next, the outline of different research designs and appropriate methodologies to tackle specific research questions are addressed. The course will also provide insight in practical procedures to execute a research plan, and how to approach the analysis of data. Finally, the reporting of educational research is addressed by paying attention to structure, writing style and the application of writing conventions in educational sciences.

Regarding the second examination period:
Components in the final mark for which the student passed in the first examination period, can be automatically transferred to the second examination period. If the student failed for the group work component in the first examination period, an alternative assignment can be provided by the course titulars.
