Course Content

Adults Educational Perspectives on Social Work aims to bring students into contact with current challenges and themes in the field of social work, and what unique perspectives adult educational scientists can contribute to these. Starting from contemporary situations of (social) injustice and disadvantage, students will work to analyse complex systems behind injustice, and design adult educationals interventions. Building on their prior agogical knowledge, new theories, insights from practice and policy, students will look for depth and nuance, explore possibilities for change and design a systemic approach.

Students are given the choice to approach this course with a view to specialisation (depth, focus on a particular theme and/or field) of their own topic. This course challenges the self-regulatory ability of students. Differentiation by interest is paramount. At the same time, a supportive environment is provided through consultation hours (e.g. supervision, peer review and coaching sessions with peers).

Additional info regarding evaluation

Students have to get 10/20 on every one of the course parts to succeed for the course.
If you get a failing grade for one of the parts, you will receive the lowest partial grade as the final grade.
If you are absent for at least one part, you will be awarded an "Absent" as an overall grade for the Programme Part.

The partial grade for which you succeeded in the first session can be transferred to the second session and you will not have to take up this course part again. In the second session, the assignment is replaced by an alternative assignment. The partial results of the separate course parts are not transferable to the next academic year.

The student's overall grade for the assignment is not necessarily the same for all group members. The individual grade depends on a correction by peer evaluation where individual contribution is evaluated.
